YSCC Announces Basketball All-Conference Awards

Auburn, ME - The Yankee Small College Conference announced the Men's and Women's Basketball Awards for the 2012/13 season at the Elite-Eight Tournament Banquet held Saturday, February 16th.

On the women's side, Vermont Tech received First Team All-Conference honors for Junior Point Guard Ama Baker (Fitchburg, MA) and Senior Shooting Guard Kelly Vellek (Burlington, VT). Susie French from Central Maine Community College was named Player of the Year, with Andrew Morong from Central Maine, the #1 ranked team in the YSCC and the USCAA, earning Coach of the Year recognition.

For the men, Seniors Alex Tyrrell (Sydney, Australia) and Josh Lindsey (Palm Bay, FL) received a place on the YSCC All-Conference First Team. In addition, Knights' Men's Coach Chris Leazier was honored as the Coach of the Year and VTC also picked up the Sportsmanship award. Ahntwan Harris of NHTI was named Player of the Year.
