Randolph Center, VT - The men's basketball team bested Fisher College on Thursday, February 7th, controlling the entire game and finishing the night with a 80-63 win.
Through a balanced attack that confused the Falcons, the Knights of Vermont Tech were able to control the game from the tip and dash out to a lead at home. VTC ended with five men in double figures, led by Senior Josh Lindsey (Palm Bay, FL) who had 18 points and 9 rebounds. In addition, Freshman Kyle Kissenberth (Winter Park, FL) had 17 points, and fellow freshman Andrew Scott (Melbourne, FL) scored 11. Senior Alex Tyrrell (Sydney, Australia) kept his stellar scoring season going by garnering 13 points to go along with 6 rebounds and 5 assists. The bench was also a key factor in the game, as Junior Brandon Matano (Honolulu, HI) came from off it to help the team in scoring 12.
The Knights used an extremely efficient offensive attack to subdue the Falcons. In the end, VTC shot an incredible 53.8% from the field, and perhaps an even more impressive 47.8% from behind the 3-point arc. That shooting percentage definitely helped Sam Marler (Fr./Sydeny, Australia) as he dished 8 assists.
For Fisher, Ryan McCorkle and Tyler Radcioni had 13 to tie for the lead in scoring.
