Lyndonville, VT: The Vermont State University Randolph volleyball team showed determination and steady growth on Sunday in a doubleheader against in-state rival VTSU Lyndon at George W. Stannard Gymnasium. The Knights competed hard across both matches, taking Lyndon to five sets in the opener before falling in three competitive frames in the second meeting of the day.
In the first match, Randolph came out strong and confident, capturing the opening two sets behind sharp serving and solid defensive play. The Knights maintained control early with balanced energy on the court, communicating well and applying pressure throughout long rallies. Lyndon responded with renewed momentum in the third set and carried that energy into the later frames, edging out the fifth set to take the match.
The second matchup continued in much the same spirit, with Randolph fighting through close sets and maintaining composure through extended exchanges. The Knights built offensive rhythm and defensive intensity but couldn't quite find the consistency needed to swing momentum their way. Even in defeat, Randolph's effort reflected a growing sense of teamwork and resilience, hallmarks of a group continuing to build chemistry and confidence with each outing.
VTSU Randolph moves to 2–11 overall and 1–6 in conference play following the doubleheader, while VTSU Lyndon improves to 2–13 overall and 0–1 in the North Atlantic Conference. The Knights will look to carry the competitive edge and cohesion shown in Lyndonville into their upcoming stretch of matches.
