Vermont Tech competes in National Championships
This past weekend found the VTC Cross Country team at NHTI for the USCAA National championships. The weather was cold and rainy with no breeze. While VTC was unable to field a full team, this was a great race with so many good runners in the USCAA from across the country.
The trend this year for Vermont Tech runners has been to run faster in each race. This race was no different. Justin Newland, who earned all conference runner in the Sunrise Conference of the NAIA a week ago, once again broke the VTC All Time 8k record with a 27:58 time. This is over 90 seconds faster than the previous record set 2 weeks ago. Justin has had a great year and now has a time to beat. Justin finished 29th overall in this National Championship. Adamo Fusaro continued with his Yearly personal records by finishing with a great time of 32:53 . He was 95th overall in Nation. Owen Mayhew set his all time Personal Record with a time of 36:06 and a 113th place finish.
