Joe Dingledine Named Head Golf Coach
Varsity Competition to Begin in 2014
Randolph Center, VT – Vermont Tech has appointed PGA Golf Head Professional Joe Dingledine as the new Head Coach of Golf. Joe will begin immediately building a program that is looking to return as a varsity sport for the 2014 season.
Dingledine brings a wealth of experience, including a lifetime of playing golf to the position. "We are excited to bring Joe on as the golf coach, as his knowledge of the game will greatly benefit the student-athletes," said Vermont Tech Athletic Director Jenn Norton-Magnan. "I am certain he will be able to rebuild the program, recruit excellent golfers and elevate VTC to the top of the YSCC."
As a PGA Member: Class "A" Professional and a Professional Golf Management Program Graduate, Dingledine has worked as a teaching professional for much of his career. Most recently, he was a teaching pro at the Montague Golf Club, just minutes down the road from the Vermont Tech campus in Randolph, VT. Prior to Montague, he was the Head Pro and Manager at Northfield Country Club in Northfield, VT, and before that the Assistant Golf Pro at The Country Club of Barre, in Barre, VT.
For the 2013 academic year, Joe will work with the Vermont Tech Golf Club, while beginning to plan and recruit student-athletes for the future. The club will not be a sanctioned varsity sport, but, through Coach Dingledine's guidance, will compete both as a team and individuals at various events throughout New England.
