Men's Basketball Holds Free Clinic for Randolph Community
Randolph Center, VT: Sunday, the Vermont Tech Basketball team held a free clinic for the Randolph Recreation kids. The clinic was an effort to support the community, work on some fundamentals and connect the VTC basketball team with future ballers in the area. " We want to make sure that we are giving back to the families in our community." Coach Jamal Hughes said. " It was really cool seeing the kids smiling, having fun and connecting with the players. Paige Wierikko is doing a great job managing everything while being short staff and I hope to continue to team up with her and the Randolph Rec to make these events happen more often."
Quotes from the Players
Wyatt Messier (Sophmore Forward)
It was really awesome to see all the kids smiling. I hope it's something they remember for a while and I hope they can make it to a few games this season.
Bryce Ilsley (Sophmore Guard)
It was great to have the kids in the community come out and bond with us over the shared love of basketball. I'm glad we had the opportunity to teach them new skills, and them teach us how to be role models.
