Randolph Center, VT - Michael Dunkle and Jenna Jerome have been chosen as team captains for the Vermont Tech Cross country teams.
Jenna Jerome graduated from U32 High School in 2017. She ran both track and cross country for U32 high school. Jenna was part of the girls track and field team State Championship 2x during her career.
As team captain of the Vermont Tech Women's team, Jenna will help oversee the success of 7 women participating in this year's Varsity program. The women's team will be highly competitive this year, with the largest roster we have seen yet as new recruits join the lone returning runner, Masha Goodspeed (Rutland HS). New runners to the team this year include Jenna Jerome ( U32 ) Sierra Graves (Peoples Academy), Sophie Provost (Bellows Free Academy) , Jessica Lamb (Harwood Union HS), Emma Labadie (The Sharon Academy), and Olivia Marchado (Christian Bible Church Academy)
On the men's side, Michael Dunkle graduated from U32 in 2015 as a standout cross country runner, Nordic Skier and track team member. Michael is currently in his 2nd year at Vermont Tech and leads a promising group of Men who are training hard together to accomplish a first in Vermont Tech XC history at the YSCC meet in October. They have a goal to win that meet.
Vermont Tech has a strong looking Men's team this year with several new recruits added to the returning sophomore group from last year. The team roster includes Dave Mattern (South Royalton) Michael Dunkle ( U32 ) Jaiden Jackson ( Cumberland NJ ) , Tyler Dunham ( Peoples Academy ), Mathew Kelly ( Fort Kent ME ) , Max Mahr ( Barre VT ), Nick Thornton ( South Royalton VT ), Zach Bourne ( New York ), Kevin Krosack ( Randolph Vermont ) and Nathaniel Wells ( Peoples Academy)
Overall Vermont Tech looks strong this year as a contender for Conference Champsionships
