Colchester, VT - Vermont Tech runners Rebecca Broadbent and Olivia Reynolds represented the Women's team at the Annual Vermont College State meet on Friday September 30, which was held at St. Michaels College in Burlington Vermont. The course was relatively flat which was a nice break from the hills that most courses run through. Vermont State College Meet included all the colleges with Vasristy Cross Country Programs in Vermont with the exception of Southern Vermont and University of Vermont.
Leading the women's team from Vermont Tech was Rebecca Broadbent who ran to an 8th place overall finish in the 6K race with a time of 24:50, just 69 seconds behind the winner, Read Allen from Middlebury College who finished in 23:41. Second place went to Kaylyn Crompton of Castleton University (24:14), with Abigail Freach of St. Michael's College (24:17) rounding out the top 3. Following Rebecca from Vermont tech was Olivia Reynolds who ran her first collegiate 6K race and finished 66th overall with a time of 32:55.
Rebecca will try to repeat her 1st place finish from 2014 at our next race at home in Randolph Center when Vermont Tech hosts the YSCC championships on Saturday, October 22nd.
