Women’s Soccer shut out in home Opener

Randolph Center, VT –Jennifer Maguder attempted six of Paul Smith's 29 shots and scored the decisive goal in the 26th minute as the Bobcats shut out the Vermont Tech women's Soccer 3-0. Dani Cochran(St. Johnsbury, VT) lead the Green knights with three of ssix shots for the Lady Knights..


Elizabeth Matalavaged score 4 minutes into the game for the Bobcats on a shot outside from outside the penalty box, putting the ball just out of reach of Vermont Tech Keeper Laura Flint ( Highgate, VT).


The Bobcats kept the pressure on in the first half as Maguder created a fast break for Nicole Landry to score the second goal of the game.


Despite being out-shot in the second half, the Green Knights played with composure and tenacity, to hold the Bobcats to scoreless in the second half.


Flint made 16 saves for the Green Knights and Asenath Brooks earns the shut out with two saves for the Bobcats.


The Green Knights return to the action on the road this Sunday September 14th at Unity College.
