Ahmerst, MA - The women's basketball team pulled off a solid win against Hampshire College on the road, winning 77-25. The Knights had 4 players with points in double figures, and a 5th player with 9 points on the night. Many of the points were scored off of steals.
The Knights took the lead right out of the gate and never looked back. The Knights were on fire, with over 40% shooting percentage throughout the game. The team was led by Sophomore Mariah Rilling who had 19 points, 4 rebounds and 9 steals. Mariah was joined by Sophomore Olivia Reynolds with 15 points, Freshman Madalyn Leggett with 14 points and also 9 steals, and Shannon Cookson with 12 points. Adding to the tough offensive play was Zxavia Berry, coming off the bench to socre 9 points and grab 11 rebounds.
Coach Jamie Paterson was happy with the performance " The women played a great game, they really came together as a team tonight and were able to put the plays together and follow up with good baskets. Our shooting percentage has been low in the first few games, and it was really great to see these ladies pull out a win like this tonight."
The Knights play next at home this Saturday against Southern Maine.
