Women's basketball struggles in Maine

The Vermont Technical College Women's basketball team had a pair of games over this past weekend.  The Lady Green Knights first played University of Maine-August on Saturday, 11/5/16.

 VTC struggled to get the ball in the basket all game.  As they only shot 15% from the field  and lost 71-27.  VTC was led offensively by Doireanne Chesbrough with 8 points followed by Haley Buffum with 7. UMaine Augusta were led by Caitlin LaFountain with 20 points and 13 boards followed by Jamie Plummer with 17 points and 12 rebounds.

VTC drops to 1-1 as UMaine Augusta goes to 2-0 on the year.


The second game took place on 11/7/16 and was against Central Maine Community College.  The game started even however after the first quarter the rotation substitution and the speed of the CMCC players started to take its toll on the VTC team.

 CMCC won the game by the score of 96-44.  CMCC was lead Brook Reynolds with 20 points  followed by Seve Deery-Deraps and Jenny Schlim with 13 and 10 points.  VTC was led by Doireanne Chesbrough with 12 points and 3 boards and Sarah Stalnaker with 9 points and 7 boards.

VTC drops to 1-2 for the season and play College of St. Josephs on Wednesday, 11/9, at the Shape Gym.  CMCC record now stands at 6-0.
