Colchester, VT - Vermont tech Men's cross country team ran last Friday at the annual Vermont College state Meet. The Men's team finished a respectable 5th place out of 9 colleges that competed. Middlebury College won the team event for the men with 18 points, followed by Norwich University (51), St. Michael's College (87) and Castleton University (94).
Three of the Vermont Tech runners competed in their first collegiate 8K race. Scott Durkee (Chelsea, VT) finished 36th overall in 29:42 followed closely by Dave Mattern (Tunbridge, VT) in 46th place with a time of 30:37. James MacDonald ran his personal best 8K with his 35:57 finish, followed by Nicholas Poland ( 39:40 ) and Tyler Gammell ( 47:40 )
Vermont Tech edged out Johnson State, Green Mountain College , Landmark and Lyndon State to take 5th.
