Concord, NH - The Vermont Tech Men's Cross Country team finished third at the Yankee Small College Conference Championship Meet held Saturday, October, 20th. The meet was won by host school NHTI, with Paul Smith's coming in second and the University of Maine-Machias rounding out the top four.
Individually, the championship was won by Corey Roth from Paul Smith's College in a time of 28:23, followed by two NHTI runners, Ignacio Harnando and Tyler Harding who ran the course in 28:48 and 29:23, respectively.
Ryan Follensbee (So./Sharon, VT) led the Knights home in 13th with an 8K time of 32:59. Following Ryan was Nicholas Martiros (So./Rutland, VT) in 18th with a time of 35:34, Mao Meichong in 19th with a time of 36:17 and Anthony Putvain (Fr./Craftsbury, VT) in 21st completing the course in 37:26. Also competing for the men were Steven Leach (So./Fairfax, VT), Owen Mayhew (Fr./Barnard, VT) and Matt Aiello (So./Springfield, VT).
On the women's side, NHTI took the team championship with Paul Smith's in second and Maine-Machias in third. Unity College placed first individually in the women's race, with Courtney Dotterweich finishing the 5K course in a scorching 24:41. Maine-Machias' Paige Weichman took second in 25:40, NHTI third with Isha Garcia running a 25:51 and Nashua Community College grabbing fourth with Alyss Lombardi running a 25:59.
Vermont Tech fielded individual runners for the race. Serena Reynolds (Fr./Alburgh, VT) finished in 25th and Brittney Osborne (So./Colchester, VT) 26th in times of 34:39 and 35:23.
