Hot Shooting Pushes Knights Past Central Maine

On Friday Night the Vermont Tech Men's Basketball team defeated Central maine 95-59 in a Yankee Conference match-up. This was the second meeting of the two team this season. Vermont Tech won the first encounter in double overtime. 

The Knights couldn't miss in the first half, sinking 11 three point shots. Tyrone Hilson made five for the half, while Jeremiah Shaw and Trekel Douglas, sunk three and two respectively. This coupled with stellar defense, sent the home team to the break up 50-25.

In the second half the Knights cooled off from down town but still maintained a strong defensive effort, holding the Mustangs to 30 percent shooting for the game. All players scored for the Knights who also had 24 assists on the day. 

Head Men's Coach Alex Tyrrell likes the constant improvement his team is showing this semester.

"We are getting better with every opportunity to be on the floor together", said Coach Tyrrell. "From the start today the guys were locked in on both ends of the floor".

Tyrone Hilson led the Knights with 31 points and five rebounds. Jeremiah Shaw added 18 point and seven rebounds.

The win improve the Knights to 14-6 overall and 7-2 in the Yankee Conference.
