Drake Perry, a 6' guard from Oklahoma City, has commited to Vermont Tech men's basketball. The talented lefty graduated from Putnam City High School, and has since completed his Associates Degree at Oklahoma City Community College.
When Coach Tyrrell was shown film on Drake he was immediately excited about his ability to score the basketball.
"Drake can absolutely fill it up", said Coach Tyrrell. "He averaged over 20 a game in high school and has improved since that time. With his ability to shoot the ball, attack the rim, and get others involved, he is going to be a handful for teams defensively."
"The best thing about Drake though is his ability to fight through adversity", added Tyrrell. "He is hungry for the opportunity and ready to take advantage of it".
Drake will be studying Business Management and Technology at Vermont Tech.
The relationship with Coach Tyrrell and the opportunity at Vermont Tech were major factors in Drake decision to attend the college.
"I chose Vermont Tech because Coach and I had a good relationship', said Perry. "He gave me confidence that I could help raise the program to a completely new level. In addition, this is an opportunity for me to display my abilities on the floor. I have been through a lot prior to Vermont and now I am ready to show people what I have in store".
The Knights are coming off a 20-13 season, which saw them return to the National Tournament for the first time in 5 years. For more information about the program, please contact Coach Tyrrell at email@example.com
