Bickers Commits, Adds to Australian Tradition

Jesse Bickers, a 6'2" freshman guard from Rockhampton, Australia, has committed to the Knights. Jesse will continue a long list of Australian Guards that have come to the program but he will be the first from Queensland.

Head Coach Alex Tyrrell is excited to see how Jesse adapts to the college game.

"It is always fun for me to see how the Aussie's adapt and figure out the college game", said Coach Tyrrell. "Jesse has good skills and really loves the game. I think what will stand out for him is his work ethic and commitment to improving. I'm looking forward to building off his already solid foundation".

Jesse will be studying Electrical Engineering Technologies at Vermont Tech.

Jesse took many factors into consideration before making his commitment to the Knights.

"I knew Vermont Tech was the right choice for me after I took some time consider and research the school, personnel, team and location. It was just a good fit", said Bickers. "Coach Tyrrell was extremely helpful in providing me information in a timely matter and helping me through every hoop to come to another country. I'm looking forward to attending the school, being a part of the Knights, and getting them to another National Tournament".

The Knights are coming off a 20-13 season, which saw them return to the National Tournament for the first time in 5 years. For more information about the program please contact Coach Tyrrell at
