Kevin Carr (Senior, Westminster, MD) named Yankee Small College Conference and United States Collegiate Athletic Association DII Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of February 14th, 2012.
Carr led Vermont Tech to a 2-1 record against Yankee Conference opponents last week, including an upset victory against USCAA #1 Eastern Maine. He averaged 26.6 points per game, shot 50% from beyond 3 and recorded a perfect percentage from the foul line. Against Eastern Maine, Carr shot 59% from the field and 60% from 3. In addition, he further helped the Knights with 3.3 assists, 2.3 steals and 5 rebounds per game.
His week was highlighted by scoring his 2000th point. Carr is the all-time leading scorer in Knight basketball history, men or women, and became the only Vermont Tech basketball player to ever reach the 2,000 point barrier. What makes the feat even more impressive is Kevin accomplished it in just three short years at Vermont Tech.
