Senior Guard Kevin Carr (Westminster, MD) was awarded Player of the Week honors by the Yankee Small College Conference at the end of a stellar week that saw the Vermont Tech Men's Basketball team finish 3-0, extending their overall record to 6-0, 3-0.
Carr was intrumental in the Knights' three wins, notching a total of 69 points while shooting an astounding 63.6% from the field. His most proficient scoring output of the week came against conference foe Paul Smith's College, where he tallied 32 points on 66% shooting, 12-18 from the field overall, 4-9 from 3 and 4-7 from the free throw line. He also dished out 4 assists and came away with 3 steals. Against PSC he also recorded his only turnover of the week, making his assist/turnover ratio 11:1.
For the week, Carr led the team in scoring every single game, finishing with an average of 23ppg. In addition, he was 2nd in steals and assists, and shot 50% from 3.
In the first contest of the week, against in-state rival Johnson State, in 30 minutes of play he went 9-16 from the field, recording 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. In seeing limited action against Sarah Lawrence College, playing only 13 minutes, he went 7-10 from the field, 3-3 from beyond the arc, tallied 17 total points, handed out 4 assists and came down with 2 rebounds.
